It is understood that the "best hospital list" and other lists are conducted as a public welfare project by an independent third-party hospital management academic institutions - Fudan University Hospital Management Institute and the reviewers include well-known experts from the Chinese Medical Association and the Physicians Society. This year, the total number of experts in the database reaches 3969 people, that increase of 240 people over last year. This year's best hospital rankings includes acute medicine, intensive care and clinical pharmacy. The total number of subjects has reached 37. The list covers all Chinese hospitals, including military hospitals and private hospitals.
Fudan version of the hospital list borrows expert review methods from the 27 years long the United States best hospital list. The list also fully integrated with China's reality and national conditions, adopt the authority of third-party data in line with China's national conditions. In the evaluation, the expert survey questionnaire "reputation assessment method" weight accounted for 80%, the annual scientific research papers, scientific research output accounted for 20%. The methods are mainly adopted: "the best understanding of the peer experts to select the best hospital" and "the most knowledgeable construction of the experts to assess the hospital's specialist reputation".
The list since the birth, was widely adopted by the medical institutions, health administrative departments and academic institutions.
